G4S Supporting the White Ribbon Campaign to Stop Violence Against Women
G4S are undertaking the process to become a White Ribbon Accredited Workplace. This is a very important initiative for us as an organisation. We are acutely aware that much of our work is in environments that exist to accommodate people who have either perpetrated violence against women and children or who have been victims. This process is a way of tangibly demonstrating to our staff and the wider community, the importance of men in particular speaking up when they see inappropriate actions towards women by other men and that it is everyone’s responsibility to support the vulnerable women that may be struggling in silence.
We believe we can make a difference by demonstrating that our organisation and staff say NO to violence against women and are proud to speak up.
G4S is fully committed to the White Ribbon campaign of ending violence against women. The accreditation involves embedding the White Ribbon principles across all of our contracts and workplaces over the next 12 months.
We are pleased to advise we have been granted a Statement of Commitment by White Ribbon Australia and we are now firmly on the journey towards workplace accreditation. Our White Ribbon working party will commence the next phase of the process which is to review our policies and procedures to ensure they use appropriate wording and reflect the principles inherent in our commitment to ending violence against women.
