South Australian Electronic Monitoring
Since the inception of the Electronic Monitoring System in South Australia (EMSSA) nearly 15 years ago, G4S has been the Department for Correctional Services' chosen provider.
G4S's current contract broadened the service to include monitoring for the South Australian Department for Families and Communities (DFC). The program now covers both adult and juvenile offenders placed on court-ordered restrictions that require monitoring and supervision.
Utilising the G4S PatrolSuite of products, South Australian Community Corrections Officers monitor offenders using a state-of-the-art Radio Frequency system with integrated Voice Verification Technology (RF/VVT).
Officers manage their caseloads using WebPatrol II, an effective and intuitive interface which allows them to receive timely and accurate notifications of offenders' movements and compliance, or non-compliance, with their individualised schedules.
Monitoring nearly 500 offenders, EMSSA is among the largest of Australia's RF/VVT operations. Using its own in-house engineering, G4S continues to develop Electronic Monitoring and to explore wider opportunities to expand RF/VVT and GPS services throughout Australia.
G4S is justifiably proud of its South Australian achievements to date, including the sustained maintenance of ISO certification for Electronic Monitoring Services.
