Victorian Prisoner Transport
G4S has provided prisoner transport services through the Department of Justice (Victoria) to Corrections Victoria, the Victoria Police and the Department of Human Services since 1997 and the contract has recently been renewed.
With more than 105 staff servicing this diverse contract, G4S is responsible for the movement of all prisoners with the exception of those of High 1 security classification. The team undertake a variety of Prisoner movements including between prisons or to and from prisons, police stations, Juvenile Justice Centres and Courts. The courts include the Magistrates, County and Supreme Courts.

Prisoners are transported in secure, purpose designed and built vehicles and the new contract sees the implementation of a new, progressive, state of the art technology system designed specifically to meet the intricate and challenging requirements of transporting today’s prisoners. This new technology not only efficiently schedules prisoner transport arrangements but has, at its core, a dynamic system designed to maximise use of all possible resources when faced with unexpected changes in passenger numbers, alteration to court appearances, drop off locations and ever changing traffic conditions. In addition the system provides actionable real-time data.
